An Urban Periscope

This 2008 competition entry was for a new information centre and landmark in Liverpool. The brief requested a temporary exhibition building that housed a new information centre, offices and marketing suite for a large urban regeneration development in the city.
The scheme comprises a ground floor and first floor, which emerges from the ubiquitous site hoardings. The main entrance, which forms an abrupt break in the continuity of the hoardings, affords passers by a fantastic periscopic view of the entire Tribeca development site. Clad in revolving mirrored and coloured louvres, the periscope serves as a beacon for the development, as well as enabling prospective home owners/businesses to preview the magnificent city-wide views.
