Alphabet Mews is an exciting 2000m2 residential development in Brixton south London completed in 2016. Threefold Architects have created 24 dwellings converted from disused former commercial buildings under permitted development.
The client’s brief was to reinvent the existing stock to create a vibrant community and a successful development which would be appealing to the growing south London rental market.
The development is set over 4 floors and includes a range of residential typologies; from 1 bed mews houses for young professionals, to 2&3 bed flats for families and sharers and 3 bed family houses set over 3 floors. This variety supports and encourages a varied mix of residents and a diverse populous.
The inward looking site turns its back on neighbouring buildings and is located at the end of a no through road. This potential for isolation has been turned into an advantage and has created a strong community that is thriving in its own pocket of London.
